Deb Morgan
Secretary
Deb and her husband have been full-time residents of Cushing since 2020, but they have been coming to the Midcoast with their children for 30 years. The St. George River has always been the backdrop of their lives here, and Deb loves working with the board and staff of GRLT to help preserve more land in the watershed. She is happiest when out on the trails or out on the water, preferably with her dog, Wren (a.k.a. The Butterscotch Tornado).
Stu Rich
Stu is a forester, nurseryman, youth mentor, and Registered Maine Guide. Although he retired from a career in GIS software, he still enjoys using GIS skills for good causes - like the land trust community. He is the program director for the Maine Trout Camp and volunteer regularly at the St. George School. His idea of a perfect day is fly fishing with family and friends or hiking one of the many wonderful trails in the watershed.
Gail Presley
Gail has had a love of the outdoors since she was a child when her parents took the family camping all over the US for two months every summer. All that exploration of nature led her to become a wildlife biologist. Gail worked her entire career in wildlife and land conservation. In retirement, Gail spends her time exploring the beauty of bird life, traveling, biking, and boating, sometimes all at the same time.

Ted Piccone
Ted and his family fell in love with the Midcoast and its treasured preserves during many summers in St. George. He and his wife Susan Gibbs now call Cushing home. After three-plus decades working on international affairs in DC, he is inspired by GRLT’s impressive legacy of conserving a healthy watershed for future generations and expanding opportunities to deepen our connections to nature.
Juliet Carey
Juliet first came to the St George Peninsula with her family at age two - and has loved being here ever since. After retiring from consulting work with nonprofits in public health and social services, she completed a masters degree in culture and spirituality with a focus on caring for the earth. Being a member of the GRLT board has been a wonderful opportunity to support and give back to her favorite watershed!

Patrick Ganey
Born and raised in Buffalo, New York, Patrick has lived across the north, including Minnesota, Vermont, and Cushing, Maine. He has worked or volunteered with conservation and watershed organizations for 30+ years, beginning with Yadfon Association in Trang, Thailand, while serving as a Peace Corps volunteer. Patrick appreciates the opportunity to work with GRLT's staff and fellow board members.
Mark Munger
After more than 25 years of appreciating the watershed, Mark is pleased to be part of efforts to sustain it. In his career as an educator and consultant, he has focused on ‘what works’ as opposed to what is broken. With this perspective, communities and organizations can often discover hidden solutions to seemingly intractable problems. Faced with the predictable and unpredictable consequences of climate change, Mark believes we need to innovate, build community, and engage the young and old, and those in-between. The St. George River watershed has abundant resources, natural and human. Mark is confident that we can be imaginative and responsible stewards now and into the future.
Geoffrey Meissner
Geoff and his wife Tina moved to Cushing, right on the St George River, in 2020. Geoff's career was in IT management. Geoff is a lifelong hiker, camper, kayaker, and lover of mathematical puzzles. As a child, Geoff's family spent summers on Scarborough Beach, swimming and exploring the coast. Geoff is a four-season hiker in the northeast (Catskill Mtns, Adirondacks, and across Maine from the Midcoast, Rangeley, Mt Desert Island, and Katahdin). Geoff is also an avid woodworker, having built 11 canoes and kayaks, numerous cabinets, chairs, tables, and a mountain dulcimer. Geoff and Tina live with two Maine Coon Cats (Penobscot and Katahdin) who run the house.
Alvin Chase, Emeritus
Alvin has explored and appreciated this watershed since childhood. More than twenty years ago he committed to help actively protect and steward it by joining the Land Trust. Like a proud parent he has paddled, hiked, and shared this place with anyone who asks. He has been blessed to raise a family and nurture a thriving business in this region. The landscape has come to be what invigorates him. Farming, hunting, fishing, habitat restoration: anything out of doors in this watershed is where you'll find him.

Megan Williams
Megan is a former GRLT staff member, who has also been Executive Director at United Midcoast Charities, and is currently serving as Direct Marketing & Fundraising Manager at Maine Public. When she isn't working with colleagues to save the free press in her day job, you'll find Megan outdoors in all seasons. Gardening, hiking, paddling, snowshoeing, mountain biking, ice hockey, and water skiing are just a few of the ways she enjoys this beautiful watershed! Megan lives in Owls Head with her two (almost adult) kids, her partner, John, their cats Lucy and Sgt Pepper, and their dog, Ringo.
Matt Bahl
Matt is an avid outdoor enthusiast, and enjoys hiking, kayaking, biking, fishing, hunting, and spending as much time outdoors as possible. Matt has spent 20 years as a lawyer, HR executive, and currently works at a national think tank advancing opportunities to improve the financial health of working people. He lives in Rockland with his wife Maggie, three kids, a labradoodle, and two cats. When not outdoors Matt can be found reading a good book, watching a great film, cooking a meal for his family and neighbors, and coaching youth basketball.
