About
This small 4-acre preserve is located along the banks of the St. George River in Union and offers the opportunity to rest along your river paddle at a scenic and beautiful field. It is adjacent to extensive wetlands that connect the river to Round Pond and offers prime habitat for inland wading birds.

The river can be accessed from the public boat launch south of Riverbend Preserve at Ayer Park on Seven Tree Pond or upriver of the preserve at the unofficial paddler’s launch on the southern end of Sennebec Pond off Route 131. This preserve is only accessible from the river and is located across from the Union Fairgrounds racetrack. This portion of the St. George River is calm and full of jumping fish and wildlife - you might even pass (or portage) a beaver dam along the way!

Conservation History
This preserve was generously donated in 2025 by a Maine resident whose family historically owned this property as part of a larger local farm.
