About the event

Ladies Turkey Field Excursion led by Carmen Bombeke, IFW Instructor and Registered ME Guide, in partnership with Georges River Land Trust. Registration is required. This workshop will take place at Georges River's Rockland Bog Preserve at the new Beechwood St trailhead in Thomaston.


This program is offered to participants who identify as women in prime turkey habitat with the possibility of hearing turkeys on the roost after fly-up. Participants should be prepared to walk up to 2 miles, including walking off trail in both fields and woods. Wild turkey hunting is an excellent way to spend time outdoors, enjoy Maine’s spring and fall seasons and target Maine’s only big game bird. Wild turkey hunting is an interactive and engaging activity offering good opportunities for new hunters to quickly gain hunting experience, while also presenting ample challenge to keep experienced hunters on their toes.
