About the event

Participants will be welcomed with a live salt-boiling demonstration by Matinicus Salt Farm creator Usha Beaudoin. We’ll take a guided forest walk focused on fall foraging staples, then return to Langlais to learn more about the stages of salt making and enjoy Rachel’s preparation of savory and sweet bites centered on mushrooms and acorns. Participants will receive a 1.4oz jar of sea salt to take home with the option to blend in foraged flavors.

About Usha: Usha Beaudoin is the creator of Matinicus Salt Farm, a women-owned and family operated saltworks on the remote island of Matinicus. The farm produces small-batch wild sea salt from the clean and clear waters that surround the island using 100% solar evaporated, a slow and sustainable process that creates a high quality wild salt that has a bold flavor unique to this amazing place.
