Time & Location

Aug 08, 2026, 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Langlais Art Preserve, 576 River Rd, Cushing, ME 04563, USA

About the event

Join museum educator Jillian Impastato for an exploration of how we experience attention with art and nature. We will use both the natural environment and Bernard Langlais’ works as opportunities to engage in slow looking. Participants will develop a type of instruction-based art called “attention compositions” or site-specific texts meant to play with attention.

About Jillian: Jillian Impastato (she/her) is a museum educator and artist who explores slow looking, queer ruralism, and the ritual/tradition in her pedagogical and artistic practices.

Watershed Workshops have a pay what you can ($10 suggested) registration fee, to help offset materials costs. If this fee is a barrier, please get in touch with us at langlais@grlt.org—we want everyone who is interested to be able to participate.
