About the event
Join Georges River Land Trust (GRLT) and Maine Coast Heritage Trust (MCHT) for an evening of stargazing at the summit of Haystack Mountain Preserve in Liberty/Montville. This event will take place on Thursday, October 15th from 6pm-8pm.
On this dark evening, we’ll admire constellations and celestial bodies from the scenic summit of the mountain. Naturalist and MCHT Stewardship Manager Kirk Gentalen will provide interpretation.

Parking and hiking up Haystack Mountain: The quickest route to the summit of Haystack Mountain Preserve is from the new Georges River Land Trust parking lot on Jacques Rd. From this lot, the summit is 0.8 miles away, following a gravel and dirt road. Before you reach the summit, there is a short section that is quite steep. Please wear comfortable walking shoes.
