About the event
The Grunge, in partnership with Georges River Land Trust and Midcoast Conservancy, will host Welcoming Walkabouts, outdoor meetups for LGBTQIA+ community members at various trails throughout the Midcoast this summer and fall. Treks include a short hike with time to foster connections with each other and with nature.
This Welcoming Walkabout will take place at Haystack Mountain from 10am-12pm on Sunday, September 13. LGBTQIA+ community members, along with their allies, are invited to explore the preserve’s woodland trails and connect with new and familiar friends! This preserve offers stunning views of Kingdom Bog and Trues Pond.
For this hike, please meet at the parking lot for the Town of Liberty baseball fields. We will summit the mountain from this side, using the winding woodland trails. This is a more adventurous hike. Please bring water and wear sturdy shoes.
