Hiking Club at Haystack Mountain

Hiking Club returns! Join us for guided hikes year-round on our 80+ miles of multiuse trails from Montville to Cushing.

On Saturday, November 15 we will explore Haystack Mountain, straddling the towns of Liberty and Montville. This hike provides stunning views of Trues Pond and Kingdom Bog. We will hike the 1.1-mile trail on the Liberty side of the mountain. This hike includes moderate to steep incline and will take about two hours total to complete.

Conserved thanks to grassroots efforts by the Friends of Haystack Mountain with support from Midcoast Conservancy, Haystack Mountain was transferred to Georges River Land Trust this summer.

This hike is open to all ages! Participants should meet us at 10am at the parking lot beyond the Maine Health clinic in Liberty, in front of the baseball fields. Please wear comfortable hiking shoes and bring plenty of drinking water.
