Artist Gina Siepel will lead a hike through the woodland trails of the Langlais Art Preserve, giving one final glimpse into the process and meaning behind Forest Geometries before a special deinstallation process takes place.

About the event
Gina's Siepel's Forest Geometries has enchanted the woodland trails of the Langlais Art Preserve for the past year and a half. Described as "holistic and beyond merely visual" (Jorge Arango, Portland Press Herald) Siepel's site-specific installation brings our attention to the dynamic forces that shape a forest. Five large-scale sculptures crafted from fallen saplings invite a sensorial reflection on form, time, and ecology.
Now, join Siepel for one special and final walk through the sculptures. Siepel will discuss the research, fabrication, siting, and conceptual and ecological considerations that inspired Forest Geometries. At the end of the hike, GRLT staff and volunteers will hand carry Siepel’s Tetrahedron sculpture—referencing the classical element of Fire—out of the forest and set it alight for a festive closing reception bonfire along with music and refreshments.
