About the event
Join Georges River Land Trust (GRLT) and Maine Coast Heritage Trust (MCHT) for an animal tracking walk in the Rockland Bog! Winter is an exciting and active time for wildlife. Kirk Gentalen, naturalist and Regional Stewardship for MCHT, will provide tips for identifying animal tracks, and give insight into what animals are busy doing in the woods this time of year.
Check out Kirk's MCHT blog, Nature Bummin', for a sneak peak into tracking, what mustelids like fishers and mink are up to in the winter and early spring, and how to spot their dens.
Directions: This walk will explore the trails of the Rockland Bog Preserve from GRLT's new trailhead on Beechwood St. in Thomaston. 389-395 Beechwood St in Thomaston is the approximate location for the trailhead. Follow the dirt driveway to the large parking lot at the trailhead. See more details about the preserve here. Please contact maeve@grlt.org…
