This 14-acre preserve encompasses the summit of Barrett Hill, which rises almost 700 feet above Union. While there is no public parking, there is a narrow 30-foot right-of-way from Barrett Hill Road onto the property. This entrance is flagged with pink tape and is adjacent to Central Maine Power pole #27. There are no maintained trails on the property. The preserve is open to hunting. Please be respectful of the neighboring landowners.
Conservation History
Rebecca Stickney donated this property to the land trust in 1998 to protect the scenic views and forested land atop Barrett Hill. The property had been previously logged, but has since grown in with oak, beech, and maple groves. At the summit, these trees thin out and provide views of Sennebec and Seven Tree Pond.
