Roaring Spout is a short trail through a coastal spruce forest that leads to an outlook of the ocean. It is a beautiful spot to view the sunrise or have a picnic! Roaring Spout gets its name from the blowhole that is active as the tide is incoming.
Access to Roaring Spout is difficult, as it is on a private drive without public parking. We suggest parking on Hartsneck Road just before Roaring Spout Road and starting your hike from there. It is three-quarters of a mile along the road to the trailhead and then just a short 0.1 mile to the viewpoint.
Conservation History
Roaring Spout Trail was protected from development through a conservation easement in 1987. This easement allows public access on the 2-acre property, which is why today a trail exists to the scenic lookout.
