Welcome New Board Members
The Land Trust is pleased to announce that David Williams and Paul Sampson were elected to the Board of Directors at our annual meeting on September 15, 2015.
David Williams is the founder of Williams CPA Group, LLC. David grew up in Camden and spent much of his youth traipsing through the woods and canoeing the rivers of Knox and Waldo Counties. He holds a B. A. in economics from Hamilton College and spent time in the banking and boatbuilding industries before settling on his accounting profession. David has served on conservation boards such as Friends of Casco Bay, Coastal Conservation Association, and Coastal Mountains Land Trust. He is currently the Chairman of the Board of Pen Bay Healthcare and its related subsidiaries.
For the past thirty years, Paul Sampson has been president of A.E. Sampson & Son Ltd. The Warren-based company produces quality millwork specializing in hardwood flooring. In 2012 Paul started Oyster River Joinery, featuring his handcrafted wooden oyster platters. Paul grew up on a small farm in Lincolnville and was working in the woods by age seven. Understanding the numerous growing conditions and various characteristics of trees was a great education to prepare him to be a wood craftsman. Paul and his wife, Jula, live adjacent to Paul's family farm. He has been active on numerous building committees, industry and school boards. Currently he serves on the board of the Small Woodland Owners Associations of Maine.
