Four of our trusted volunteers were recognized for their service to trails, land protection, stewardship, and graphic design at our annual volunteer party around a roaring bonfire at our Gibson Preserve in Searsmont.
- Chris Hirsch is one of those can-do volunteers who is always ready to head into the woods and help with trail clearing, improvements and building.
- John Hufnagel, a long-time volunteer and former Board member, was recognized for his above and beyond service on our Lands Committee where he assists in boundary work, a key component to protecting properties with easements.
- Rebecca Jacobs, program manager at the Knox-Lincoln Soil and Water Conservation District, enthusiastically offered to help us identify invasive plants on key preserves, and develop plans to control them, an important strategy for addressing the impacts of climate change.
- Mark Winkworth, a new volunteer, donated his skills to design a common look for signs at our trailheads, kiosks, and office. He also adapted the sign design to advertise GRLT via bumper stickers, available to all members. Call us to get yours today!
Our tremendous thanks to these and all our wonderful volunteers! Want to help? We have lots of volunteer opportunities.
