Mountain Biking Trails
Fat biking is all the rage! Our Connecting Community to Town Forests initiative is the result of a longstanding working relationship between Georges River Land Trust and the Thomaston Conservation Commission.
We’re delighted to work on a collaborative effort to engage local youth in healthy outdoor experiences through the construction and maintenance of a professional single-track multi-use path through the town-owned forest. We’ve also partnered with Side Country Sports who helped make these bike trails a reality. The trails opened to the public in October 2018 and support a new physical education program at Oceanside Middle School.
Take the whole family trail biking! Here are the directions to the bike trails.
Georges River Bikeways
Exploring the Georges River watershed by bicycle is a healthy, rewarding and non-polluting way to enjoy the diversity and beauty of the area. We’ve designated 111 miles of roads as Bikeways because of their outstanding scenery and relatively low automobile traffic. We’ve highlighted three loop rides, though any number of route variations are possible. Stop by our office to pick up a Georges River Bikeways map.
