The Mount Pleasant Trail begins at Mt. Pleasant Street (see below for parking directions) and is an out and back trail to a series of scenic views. You will begin alongside a field full of raspberry bushes.
Heading southwest, you’ll work your way across the mountain through a conifer forest, cross a blueberry field, and enjoy the wonderful views of Meadow Mountain, the Camden Hills, and Penobscot Bay.
This trail connects to the Spruce Mountain Trail at Mt. Pleasant Street and provides hikers the opportunity to conquer Mount Pleasant, Spruce Mountain, Ragged Mountain, and Bald Mountain in one continuous hike.

Directions to the Trailhead
There is an informal parking area on Mt. Pleasant Street that bisects this trail section between Mount Pleasant and Spruce Mountain. From north/west, turn from Route 17 in Hope south onto Fogler Road, travel 1 mile and turn left on Mt. Pleasant Street. Travel 1.2 miles to the vehicle pull-out area on the left shoulder. The trailhead shows up on Google Maps.
From the south/east, from Route 90, head northwest on Route 17 for .4 miles and turn left on Mt. Pleasant Street. Travel 2.3 miles to the vehicle pull-out area on the right shoulder.
