Marie McNeely, Director of Partnerships
Marie McNeely credits the trails of Georges River Land Trust for keeping her sane during the 2020-21 Covid pandemic. “There are scores of dedicated people doing inspiring work for communities through non-profit organizations. I’ve heard so many of their supporters talk about being happier and healthier as a result of consuming good works,” said Marie.
After raising three children in Montclair, New Jersey, Marie and her husband, Jim, now consider Owls Head their home. “My parents were from New Brunswick, Canada, so I’ve spent many summers enjoying the waters, trees and wide-open spaces of Maine and the Maritimes. After years living in the most densely populated state, I’m fortunate to live here, with Georges River’s trails and preserves as accessible as the grocery store. I don’t take the wonder of this special place for granted.”
