Land Trust to Celebrate 30 Years with Boat Trip

Georges River Land Trust invites members and friends to get out their boat togs and dancing shoes to celebrate 30 years of conservation along the Georges River. The anniversary celebration will be held at the Lyman-Morse Boatbuilding boatyard in Thomaston on Sunday, August 27, 2017.

The afternoon event will begin at 2:45 pm with a 1-hour boat cruise down the Georges River on the Laura B to see recently conserved lands and learn about local wildlife. There are limited spots available for this guided trip and tickets are $40 per person and can be purchased online or by calling (207) 594-5166.

At 4 pm, members and friends will gather in Building 11 at Lyman-Morse, the “green” boat building facility, for the free 30th anniversary celebration. All attendees are asked to bring a summer season potluck dish to share. Guests will enjoy the tunes of the BCD Jazz Trio, and have an opportunity to bid on several unique silent auction items. The Land Trust Board will update everyone on accomplishments over the past year, and introduce new Board members.

Georges River Land Trust wishes to thank Eastern Tire & Auto Service for being the sponsor of its 30th anniversary year. Land Trust friends are encouraged to visit their shop in Rockland and thank them for their generous support.

The Georges River Land Trust has conserved 3,500 acres of natural habitats and working lands in Knox and Waldo Counties and receives 90% of its support through individual donations. For more information about programs, trails, events, and membership visit GeorgesRiver.org or call (207) 594-5166.
