The Gibson Preserve teems with wildlife and opportunity, sheltering over 75 animal species and offering river frontage, and backwoods hunting. The Gibson Preserve offers much for flora, fauna, and people of all kinds.

The property has 4 miles of trails and is bisected by the Georges River, including the Gibson Wellness Walk, a 0.4-mile accessible, lollipop loop trail. There is currently no access across the river. Thanks to generous gifts from Charles Dana and Kay Gibson, the Land Trust owns and manages this preserve, 165 wild acres on the Georges River in Searsmont.

The north side of the property with the Gibson Wellness Walk can
be accessed from our parking lot off Route 173, 3 miles west of the Searsmont Fraternity Village store. The southern half of the preserve is accessed from Cedar Lane, off of West Appleton Road.
