The Georges River Land Trust and The Highlands Coffee House, will be hosting a MAINE MASTERS ON MONDAYS film series. This exciting series of films celebrate the local artists that have long been inspired by the natural beauty that living in Maine evokes. Films screen at 6:30 PM on the first Monday of each month, January, February and March, with a special finale film featured in April. The Maine Masters films are being shown with a suggested donation of $5 to cover the filmmaker’s screening costs.

LOIS DODD: MAINE MASTER
Lois Dodd (born 1927) is a nationally known painter recognized for her intimate, poetic, painterly approach to landscape motifs (including quarries), the nude and floral subjects. She first came to Maine in 1951 and now divides her time between Cushing, Maine, New York City and New Jersey.

OLIVE PIERCE: MAINE MASTER
Olive Pierce from Rockland, Maine, is in her early 80s. Her gritty, documentary black and white photographs have focused on community: a Maine fishing community; high school; and the children of Iraq. She is an unflinching truth teller.
