January 11, 2013 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
FreeWe are pleased to announce the second screening in our IT’S A WILD LIFE Winter Film Series, a collaboration with The Highlands Coffee House in Thomaston. This exciting series of films celebrate the wild and wonderful ways we live our life on the land and water here in Maine. Films screen at 7:00 pm on the second Friday of each month all winter at The Highlands Coffee House in Thomaston. The public is welcome and admission is free.
The second film to be screened is HARDWATER, directed by Ryan Brod and Daniel Sites, on January 11, 2013. This Maine-made, feature-length documentary pays homage to our state’s tribal, oft-misunderstood ice fishing sub-culture. It is a story about a treasured Maine tradition, shared passion for storytelling, and the ways in which ice fishing brings people together during the harshest of seasons.
This event is part of Georges River Land Trust’s annual Walks & Talks series, an effort to introduce the community to the wonderful resources available to them in the St. George River watershed. Additional films to be screened: IN THE BLOOD on February 8, 2013, and TURNING TAIL on March 8, 2013.
