Ceramics for Conservation
This past fall, 120 art students from Medomak Valley High School arrived at the Langlais Sculpture Preserve on three school buses to explore the Preserve and examine the sculptures as inspiration for their ceramics class. They were responding to a request from the Land Trust to stop using plastic and create a zero-waste facility.
Krisanne Baker, ceramics teacher at Medomak Valley High School, thought her students would be up to the challenge to create Langlais inspired mugs that could serve the Land Trust’s guests at the property. Following their visit, the students created incredible, one of a kind mugs in the school studio and the Land Trust is exceedingly grateful for their creativity.
This summer, the Land Trust will be holding a summer camp for children 8-12 at the Langlais Preserve with Leaps of Imagination. If you are interested in learning more about the program please contact Cynthia Trone by email.
