The Magog Falls Trail traces the meandering current of the Georges River. The proximity of the river provides verdant green floodplains, towering pines, and beautiful views as your surroundings change throughout your hike.
From Appleton Preserve, there are some short but steep climbs through pine forests followed by bog bridges. A little less than a mile in you will come to Magog Falls, a beautiful spot in the river to sit and enjoy the scenery around you.
Go east from Route 131 in Appleton along Route 105 for ½ mile. Parking is available at the ME Inland Fisheries & Wildlife gravel lot on the right, just before the bridge across the Georges River at the Appleton Preserve.
