Jack Baker Woods Trail

Nestled amid mixed softwoods and a productive wetland, this is a single-track hike with a 400-foot boardwalk.

Named for an avid supporter of the GHP, Jack Baker Woods provides access to two sections, each with its split rock, glacial erratic: The 4-mile Thomaston Town Forest trail and the 7-mile Oyster River Bog trail.

From the Route 1 stoplight in the center of Thomaston, head north on Beechwood Street for two miles. The Jack Baker Woods/Rockland Bog trailhead parking lot is on the left at the Georges Highland Path trailhead sign (see map).

The JBW trail is heavily rooted and seasonably wet.
