Sunchoke Soup Making at Langlais

Join us for an afternoon of making delicious autumn soup from the sunchokes (Jerusalem artichokes) that grow on the Langlais Sculpture Preserve in Cushing. We will have some sunchokes ready to begin cooking with, and will also teach you how to successfully remove these from your garden. And of course, we'll enjoy the soup hot off the stove together!

Chainsaw Safety Workshop

The public is invited to participate in a free chainsaw skills workshop geared for both novices and more experienced operators. The workshop will take place on Sunday, October 29 from 9 am to 2 pm at Robbins Lumber Forestry office in Searsmont. The workshop will be led by Ted Wright who oversees the Northeast Master Logger Certification Program, and Brent West, GRLT Stewardship Program Manager. Hike to Mt. Pleasant Summit

Join our Trails Manager, John Anders, for a 2-mile hike to the summit of Mt. Pleasant. The Mt. Pleasant portion of the Georges Highland Path (our 50-mile trail system) winds it's way through a mixed forest, wild blueberry fields, and ends up with a wonderful view.
