August 18, 2016 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Free

Join the Georges River Land Trust and the St. George Conservation Commission for the Land Trust’s annual “turtle” walk, this year at Fort Point in St. George on Thursday August 18 at 10 a.m. Known as a “turtle” walk because the pace is slow and easy, this widely popular event is perfect for kids of all ages and their parents and grandparents. Also hosting the event are the St. George Parks and Recreation Committee and the Friends of St. George. All participants are encouraged to walk barefoot to experience the place as a turtle might. Fort Point is located on Route 131 in St. George. The walk is free and open to the public. Please call the Land Trust to register your attendance at (207) 594-5166.

Participants will meet at the Fort Point parking lot at Wiley’s Corner in St. George. Those attending should dress appropriately for a woods walk and bring a snack and water. The trail is relatively gentle, and the walk will take about two hours.
