Photographing in Nature
June 3 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Bring your camera, a picnic lunch, and take a walk in our beautiful Appleton Preserve with professional photographer Ben Magro. Whether you are interested in close-ups of forest details or in broader scenic views, Ben will help you learn how to control depth of field and focus on the most interesting aspects of what you are seeing. He can answer questions about your camera, discuss common pitfalls, and help you make sense of some of the myriad features even your cellphone camera offers.
Ben has been a working photographer since moving to Maine in the early 70s. He began work at The Camden Herald newspaper and later for Down East magazine as a contributing photographer and has operated a commercial studio since 1975, currently in Belfast. His photographs have been published in many major state and national publications.
In addition to editorial, commercial, and fine art images, Ben makes high-resolution aerial photographs from his own helicopters for clients throughout Maine and New England. In the fall of 2018 he opened a 40-seat restaurant in Appleton called Briar Patch.
Rain date for this event is June 4, same time.
