The Future of our Ocean, Lands and Lobstering
March 29 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Georges River Land Trust welcomes David Cousens, retired leader of Maine Lobstermen’s Association, speaking on how connected our actions on land are to the ocean effecting not only the lobster industry but the health of our planet. A timely and important message from a leader in our coastal community who understands the direct impact of how we preserve and protect our local landscape and resources.
Cousens, whose three sons are lobstermen, takes a long view of the lobstering industry. His dynamic talk will also address the political and economic implications of the shifting landscape of the industry in our region. With the quickly changing global environment, what we do in our local conservation efforts has a ripple effect throughout the land and sea, including industry and our food.
With thanks to the Farnsworth Musuem for hosting this very special evening. Free and open to the public, donations welcome.
