Langlais Art Exhibition
March 30 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Selected works by Bernard Langlais will be exhibited at Maine Coastal Islands National Wildlife Refuge at 9 Water Street in Rockland from March 30 to April 28, 2019. The exhibit will be open during regular business hours of the Refuge, Monday – Friday 8 AM-4:30 PM.
To launch the exhibition, an opening reception will be held on Saturday, March 30 from 2 to 5 pm.
The pieces in the show are part of the permanent collection at the Langlais Sculpture Preserve in Cushing. While known for his larger than life sculptures, Langlais as a trained artist, also has a large body of work that includes drawings and paintings in watercolor and oil. With grant funding from the Wyeth Foundation for American Art to the Georges River Land Trust, some of the pieces have been conserved and are available on short-term loans for public display as part the Land Trust’s Langlais Loan Program.
