Join your host, Mark Holden, an environmental geologist, on a tour of the ancient geological history of the Georges River watershed. This 4-hour tour will explore the different structures and rock formations, which help tell the story of how Maine was formed. Stops will include major fault zones, remains of ancient volcanics, the intrusive Lincoln Sill, oceanic pillow basalts, a former ancient coastline, and a view to ancient Avalonia where two continents meet. Questions will be entertained throughout the trip, and a boxed lunch/drink will be provided!
