Chainsaw Safety Workshop

The public is invited to participate in a free chainsaw skills workshop geared for both novices and more experienced operators. The workshop will take place on Sunday, October 29 from 9 am to 2 pm at Robbins Lumber Forestry office in Searsmont. The workshop will be led by Ted Wright who oversees the Northeast Master Logger Certification Program, and Brent West, GRLT Stewardship Program Manager. Chainsaw maintenance, safety, proper bucking and felling techniques will be demonstrated. Protective gear and chainsaws will be available for those wishing to partake in the demonstration. Participants can bring their own chainsaws as well. Please wear long sleeves, long pants, and closed-toe shoes.
Registraion is limited to 12. There will be a novice/intermediate group and an advanced group. Attendees must register in advance by calling Brent at (207) 594-5166, and should select their appropriate skill level.
Refreshments will be available in the morning. Participants should bring a bagged lunch.
