Blind Albert Sings the Blues!
December 2 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Don’t miss the first Saturday afternoon of music at the Langlais Sculpture Preserve! We are pleased to welcome Vincent Gabriel, aka Blind Albert, as he plays an afternoon of the blues amidst the magic of Blackie’s art. Bring a sweater and flask, and we’ll have warm drinks and snacks. Saturday, December 2, from 1 to 3 p.m. Suggested donation of $5.
Vincent Gabriel is a guitarist from Warren, Maine, and plays venues throughout the midcoast. His early influences were his father who always had a guitar lying around the house and the Rolling Stones, and he has played with “many of the old blues guys.” In 2011, he released “11 Bravo Vietnam – A Soldiers Story,” a documentary with songs and spoken memories about his time in Vietnam. It is a look into the combat soldier’s day to day struggle for survival in the chaos of a war – survival of the soul as well as of the body.
